Survivor

So the survivor retreat was a big hit. I was a little nervous about how it would go over considering only one of the leaders had ever been to this place before... but here is a picture outline of how the weekend went.

the were first divided into two teams of seven and told to make up their tribe name, create a flag, chant, and paint each player's face.

We had the Wild Wildebeasts...

vs. the Comandos (or what some called the Camodes because of bad hand writing.)

Each team was put on a plank and told to get in order from 1. shortest to tallest 2. alphabetical order and 3. birthdate blindfolded. One of the teams figured out that they could all get off the plank and reorganize with the penalties for getting off the plank in a shorter time than the previous team. pretty sneaky.

Each player had to pick up a bucket of water and hold it above the waist line any way possible without taking a hand off of the handle and without resting it on your body.

We had BB shooting at skeets planted in the cacti.

we had archery into haystacks. we actually had a bullseye!

We linked the kids together and made them eat lunch attached to the person next to them. I dont think the guys minded too much.

We used sling shots to launth marbles at standing and floating bottles across from a small pond.

We had a gross food eating contest at the carcas pit. you can imagine the horrid smell on top of terrible taste.

A thinking challenge to get over the "lava river" without touching the river more than once while carrying your tribal flag.

the teams had to carry holey buckets of water to another larger bucket. This kid will later take the ultimate sacrifice for his team.

The retreat was located on a wild game ranch around floresville. The final challenge was a scavenger hunt to find all sorts of crazy animals. Each animal was worth a different number of points and if you could get a picture, you got more points based on how likely it was that you could actually get a photo of that animal.

And we finished off with a great sunset and awards to the winning team and 4 players who excelled during the day for whatever reasons: team spirit, perseverence, sacrifice, and stamina! Great weekend. Watch for Season 2.
